Killian & Justin
Thanks more than words can express for your generosity in approving my young son Killian's request for charitable assistance in connection with recent dental work he had done by Dr Lambert at Central DuPage Hospital. We have an incredible number of stresses on our resoures in trying to provide Killian what he needs on a daily basis. He requires 24X7 care on a 1 to 1 basis, he is non-verbal and not yet potty trained so there are many challenges associated with his care. This funding to assist with his dental work is critical to Killian and to our entire family. Thanks again for your incredible generosity and for providing for children with special needs. You are a shining example of what charitable work is all about.

Tyler
Hello,
I feel that the Grottoes of North America should be proud and pleased to be a part of the Western Carolina Center.
Tyler was taken to 3 dentists including the dentist that he was a patient of since 4 years old, not one would do anything for him. All felt they were not ready to deal with him. Tyler is 12 years old and no more different than any other boy his age.
Western Carolina Center totally corrected this problem in less that 2 hours. Dr Chapin and all his staff members were actually a pleasure for Tyler to be with. It does not always have to be as difficult as most doctors act.
Tyler does not speak many words, but he would like to say "Thank You". Keep up the good work.

Madison
Dear Grotto,
I can't tell you what a gift you have given our family. Our daughter, Madison is a ten year old and has a neurological disorder that leaves her globally developmentally delayed.
My husband and I own our own business and do not have dental insurance but did qualify for some state care. We used this care for approximately four years. Madison has required four or five fillings. Because there are not many dentists who accept the state subsidy, our options were ver limited and our experience less that satisfactory. Because the last dentist we used was not experienced in working on developmentally delayed children, Madison's cheeks and gums were cut during the process of getting her fillings. Shortly thereafter, every one of Madison's fillings fell out.
At this point, my husband and I decided to just 'suck it up' an do what we needed to do to get her adequate dental care. We chose to go to a Dr Ewald, becuase of his excellent reputation in dealing with children. We did not know of the Dental Care for Children with Special Needs program.
It was Dr Ewald who imformed us of the program and submitted Madison's application. She has since had her fillings replaced, regular cleanings and a tooth removed that was causing her adult teeth to come in crooked. We were willing to do what it took, even if it meant taking on more debt, but you have alleviated that stress from us. You have bless our entire family by this generous undertaking.
Thank You!
Pamela and Madison
Kayla
Dear Grotto,
Just a few lines letting you know how grateful we are to you. Our only child, Kayla Erin was born with a rare chromosomeal disorder that affects 1 in 20,000 births called, Angelman Syndrome. Kayla Erin has mental retardation, but a very happy child. She has had many problems with her teeth. We keep trying to patch up her teeth problems at the dentist's office. But her teeth seemed very weak always in pain, teeth broken away.
She's had 4 dental surgeries and our bills kept mounting. This last time we couldn't find a dentist who would take our insurance without a large down payment , which we did not have. We prayed that God would answer our prayers, then we remembered the Grotto. You helped us one other time. We called the Doctor of Smiles and he directed us . We found another dentist and needless to say, Kayla Erin had a 5 hour dental surgery at Children's Memorail and for the first time in years her pain is gone and she looks like a movie star!!! Thank you!! For giving our special Angel from Heaven back her Smile. Without any pain. May God Bless You All.
We will remember you all in our Prayers. You are doing wonderful work for people that God made special that are often over looked and forgotten, but are pure in heart and loved very much by God. Thank You !!!

Abby
We would like to thank the Grottoes of North Americal for their kind assistance in helping Abby with her dental treatment. We are appreciative of your help in paying for all the work that Abby needed on her teeth. She seems to have no ill effect from the treatments and even it seems to have had a positive effect in that she is no longer biting objects and school has informed us that she is not drooling as much as before the treatment.
It is comforting to know that there are organizations like yours that help kids like Abby in their times of need.
Thank you again from both of us and Abby.

Jordan
Dear Grottoes,
I have written you several times to thank you for the wonderful care that we have been able to attain for Jordan because of your amazing generosity and thoughtfulness toward others.
We believe that the dental care that Jordan has received will help his quality of life now and will extend his life. Because of the heart problems that he has with Down Syndrome, it is even more crucial to have good dental health. This year marks the end of our ability to receive dental care from the Grottoes since Jordan has turned 18. We are forever and eternally grateful for your program for each individual giver, for the philosophy of the program and for the spirit of the Humanitarian Foundation.
We have all been blessed by knowing you. Thank you for your continued help for children with special needs.
Gratefully yours,
Darby, Jim and Jordan
Brianna
